Ingredients
Scale:
4 salmon fillets (6 oz each, skin-on preferred)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoons chili-infused honey (or regular honey with 1-2 teaspoons of red pepper flakes)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
2 green onions, chopped
Sesame seeds, for sprinkling
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking, or prepare your grill for medium-high heat.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub each fillet with olive oil, season generously with salt and black pepper, and let sit for about 10-15 minutes.
In a small saucepan, combine the honey, chili-infused honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Heat over medium heat until just simmering, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and set aside.
For baking, place salmon fillets skin-side down on a lined baking sheet. Brush the hot honey sauce over each fillet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through. For grilling, place fillets on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, brushing with the sauce as you turn.
In the last few minutes of cooking, brush additional hot honey sauce over the salmon for extra flavor.
Once cooked, remove the salmon and let it rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
