Description
A traditional Korean fruit punch that bursts with flavor and vibrancy.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 cup watermelon, cut into small cubes
1 cup strawberries, hulled and halved
1 cup kiwi, peeled and sliced
1 cup peaches, pitted and sliced
1 cup grapes, halved
1/2 cup sugar (adjust for sweetness)
2 cups water
2 cups sparkling water or soda (for fizz)
Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Iced cubes (optional)
Instructions
Wash and cut all the fruits into bite-sized pieces. Ensure to remove any seeds or pits before cutting. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of sugar and 2 cups of water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let it cool to room temperature.
Once the syrup is cool, pour it over the mixed fruits in the bowl. Toss gently to coat the fruits evenly with the syrup.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld together.
Just before serving, add 2 cups of sparkling water or soda to the fruit mixture. If desired, add ice cubes for extra chill.
Ladle the Hwachae into glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
